COLLECTORS PAD can trace its roots to the mid 1970's when teenager Tom
Bates, son of Paul Bates, picked up a couple of rusty old beer cans on his
way home from the school bus stop. On Friday, April 3, 1987, The Museum of
Beverage Containers and Advertising was officially opened to the public in
Millersville, Tennessee. In 2002, the soda collection from the museum was
relocated on the
FARM at NOSTALGIAVILLE, in Springfield, Tennessee and
then was sold after Paul's passing in 2009.

In the1980's and early 1990's massive data bases were established by Paul & Tom Bates to track the many varieties of soda and beer collectibles that were accumulated for the Museum of Beverage Containers and Advertising. These data bases were eventually converted into some 70 different books, mostly about soda collectibles. In this section of Nostalgiaville, we are going to share this valuable and historic information. Please excuse the sometimes crude presentation of the data bases. They are being copied to the Internet in the format they were stored since the early days when they were created... we have all become more sophisticated in our expectations since then, so be patient with us. |
